All Serving Opportunities

The Hospitality Team is a vital ministry of welcoming and service at Second Presbyterian Church. If you have a gift for making people feel at home, there are several ways to get involved:

  • Hospitality Hosts: Warmly greet people at building entrances on Sunday mornings and help newcomers navigate our large facility. Serve approximately one Sunday a month with the opportunity to serve at other special worship services during Lent and Advent.
  • Ushers: Provide a warm welcome to worshipers as they enter the Sanctuary or Chapel, distribute bulletins, help guests find seating, pass the collection plates, and assist during the Sacrament of Communion. Serve approximately one Sunday a month with the opportunity to serve at other special worship services during Lent and Advent.
  • Coffee Bar Attendant: Volunteer one Sunday per month to brew coffee at the Atrium Coffee Bar and restock supplies. This role is scheduled so it doesn’t interfere with Sunday morning classes or worship services.

Who’s Invited? Everyone is welcome to serve on the Hospitality Team! Your presence and participation help create a welcoming atmosphere for worship and events.

Do you have 1–3 hours to give once—once a week, once a month, or once a year? There’s a place for you in Children and Family Ministries!

Caring for children is the responsibility of the whole church. The relationships children build with caring adults at church are instrumental to their faith formation—and you can be part of this important work!

  • Play with Toddlers: Spend time with 2- and 3-year-olds on the carpet (9 AM or 10 AM on Sundays).

HAVE 2 HOURS?

  • Co-Teach Sunday School: Help lead a class for PreK/K, Grades 1–3, or Grades 4–5 (9 AM on Sundays). Minimal prep required

HAVE 3 HOURS?

Your time and care make a lasting impact on the lives of the children in our community.

Want to play a key role in shaping the next generation? Volunteering with our student ministry is an incredible way to invest in the lives of young people. Whether you’re leading a small group, serving up snacks, or helping create a safe and welcoming environment, you’ll have the opportunity to guide and empower students on their faith journeys.
