Jillian Corman, born and raised in Columbus, OH, earned her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Butler University, where she studied under the tutelage of Dr. Eric Stark. While at Butler, Jillian served as the Conducting Fellow for the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and Graduate Assistant for Spectra, Butler’s treble ensemble. Jillian also holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Hope College. While at Hope, she toured with their premier choir across the United States and South Africa, and studied abroad in Vienna, Austria.
Jillian is thrilled to be starting her journey at Second Presbyterian Church as the Director of Children & Youth Music, and Director of Second Chamber Players. She looks forward to providing music and faith education for musicians of all ages and having the opportunity to build on the thriving Music & Fine Arts program. In her teaching career, Jillian has taught elementary music and middle school choir, taking students from Indian Creek Middle School to ISSMA in 2023, where all three choirs earned Gold ratings. Each June, Jillian serves as the Director of Music for the M3 Summer Theater Camp in Carmel, IN. She also teaches private voice and beginning piano lessons and works with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir as Director of Greenwood Choirs and Director of the Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir.
