Hosted by Men at Second, Men's Monthly Fellowship is a gathering for men that nurtures relationships and shares the transformative power of Christ in the lives of individuals. Men's Monthly Fellowship will resume Tuesday, September 22, at 6 PM in the Youth Suite. John Illingworth will be the guest speaker. The cost to attend is $25 cash/check; pay at door. About our guest speaker:
John is a husband, father of four, financial services professional, and longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Sarah, have been married for 19 years and are raising four amazing children: Charlie (15), Anne (13), Jack (11), and Peter (5).
A native Hoosier, John attended Tri-County High School and Indiana State University. He grew up in a strong Catholic family and later married Sarah in the Presbyterian Church. His faith journey has continued to deepen through his involvement at Second, where he has served as a Deacon, a member of the Nominating Committee, and on the Children’s Ministry Associate Pastor Nominating Committee. He also attended the Indianapolis Great Banquet in 2017 and has since served on several Great Banquet teams.
Professionally, John has spent more than 20 years in financial services and currently serves as a Regional Vice President with Transamerica Retirement. His career has taken John and Sarah from Indiana to St. Louis, Boston, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., before bringing them home, back to the Hoosier state, where they have lived in Carmel for the past 12 years.
Above all, John considers his most important roles to be husband and father and continues to learn what it means to lead his family with faith through both the blessings and challenges of life.
