In college, Beth Douglass’ favorite classes were the ones focused on Scripture and theology, but she didn’t discern a clear call to pastoral ministry until almost a decade later. A 2021 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, Beth previously worked as a writer, editor, and digital content specialist both in Seattle’s tech industry and for a variety of Christian organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and is the creator and former editor of Seattle Pacific University’s SPU Stories.

Among her many incredible professors at Princeton Seminary, Beth has been particularly impacted by Dirk Smit and David Chao, especially Prof. Smit’s work with the Belhar Confession and Christian responses to racial injustice and Dr. Chao’s work in Asian American Theology.

In her free time, Beth loves drinking strong coffee, painting, writing, and re-reading favorite C.S. Lewis passages, especially ones about Aslan. She is grateful and honored to spend the next two years as a Lake Fellow and excited to learn from and serve alongside everyone in the Second community!
