SAWs Hospitality Team

Interested in supporting SAWs in a way other than physical labor? Have we got the job for you! We are looking for volunteers to join our hospitality team who help transform the worksite into a warm and celebratory environment as we mark the moment of freedom for our clients. Help students and teachers at Greenbriar Elementary.

Weekdays during school

The bright students and motivated teachers at nearby Greenbriar Elementary School need some helping hands to read with children, help in the classroom, go on field trips and host PTO events, like book fairs and Grandparents Day. Sign up to help every week or once in a while.

We are responsible for breakfast, transportation to and from the Day Center in their van (early morning and 4:30p.m.), dinner, recreation/activities with the children, and overnight hosts.

Staff sets up materials for Intermission (end of April – beginning of October on the Playground) and for Wintermission (mid-October to mid-April in McFarland Hall).

Host family welcomes children and families, acts as resource to children and families in understanding family life at Second Church, connects children and families to one another, offers directions for activities provided, and gathers materials on cart and returns the cart to the Children’s Ministries office at the end of each Sunday session.

Ushers Needed

The ushers' responsibility is to greet attendees and distribute bulletins. People of all ages who are willing and able to usher during worship service are encouraged to contact Erica Hewitt at (317) 253-6461. Volunteers are needed for all services. Apply now for our next volunteer facilitator training, September 22, 25 & 26.
  • Volunteers needed the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays each month (September-May).
  • No experience needed. All necessary training provided!
  • Serve on facilitator teams for children or adults.
To help our child participants express emotion in healthy ways, we are collecting donations.
  • Bubble wrap
  • Foam swim noodles
  • Monetary donations.
    Checks made payable to CenterPoint Counseling (New Day on memo line) and other donations can be dropped of in the CenterPoint offices located on the 3rd floor.

  • On the first and third Thursday of the month

The fine arts team needs help taking down art and installing new exhibits. Volunteers may need to climb a step ladder. Otherwise, an hour or two of your time is all we need. Please sign up for times when you would be able to help.
