Join Men at Second for a meal, live music, and a guest speaker who shares his faith journey. For the months of February and March, we'll meet in the Youth Suite at Second. February's speaker is Dave Arnold.

About our February speaker:

Dave Arnold will be sharing his moving faith story in an interview-style conversation with host Steve Haigh. Dave is from Middletown, Ohio, and was an only child surrounded by 14 rambunctious cousins. Faith was central to his childhood and included Sunday School, youth group, church camp, music, and scouting. His early understanding of Christianity was shaped by Church of God fire-and-brimstone preaching and the heavy pressure to “get it right.”

He moved to Indiana in 1977 to attend Anderson College, studying art education and vocal music, beginning a lifelong passion for teaching and the arts. Dave has taught art for school systems in Ripley County, Anderson, and Indianapolis Public Schools, and currently teaches art history at Ivy Tech.

Dave has two children, Ian and Carrie, from a previous marriage. Carrie lives in Redmond, Oregon, and is getting married this July. Ian and his wife, April, attend Second with their daughter, Brenia. Dave met his wife Brenda at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and they were married in 1993. They have a daughter, Lizzy, who lives in Virginia with her husband and two children.

Since discovering Second Presbyterian Church in 2008, Dave has called it the “biggest, warmest church I’ve ever attended.” After a life-changing experience at Indianapolis Great Banquet #62, he has served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon and is a faithful member of the Men at Second Fellowship Breakfast and Bible Study that meets on Tuesday mornings.
