Saturday - Departure Plans
Our week is finally over and we're soon to be heading home. Tomorrow morning we will be departing from McCormick at 9:00 a.m. local time. We are planning on stopping to eat lunch along the way home, and the group is expected to arrive at the church around 2 p.m. If anything changes, we will have students notify their parents! Please pray for safe and easy traveling, and we'll see you soon!
Wednesday-Friday
Sorry for the lack of updates...technical difficulties have kept updates from going through the past few days. Pictures, etc. will be uploaded after we get home and have steady internet connection!
Tuesday - Work, day two!
Today we sent three groups out into the city again to do work together. Two of the projects were the same as Monday: Summer Day Camp at Fourth Pres., and Morgan Park PC. A third group traveled to the community garden at Cabrini-Green today to work on a few projects there. We're looking forward to another day of great work tomorrow! Please continue praying for our week, that we might continue to work diligently and grow in relationship and fellowship with each other.

Monday - Our first day of work!
After a great first night, we were off to our first day of work in Chicago. We split up into three separate groups for work in different areas of the city. We had one group downtown at 4th Presbyterian Church working with their Summer Day Camp and Elam Davies social services. Another group went to Inspiration Cafe's Engagement Center in Uptown and helped them clean and reorganize their entire basement after they were struck with flooding issues just two weeks ago. The third group spent the day at Morgan Park Presbyterian Church, cleaning and organizing their kitchen area and weeding and doing landscaping work outside. After dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and a wonderful evening of worship together, we're all ready to jump into day two of work tomorrow! Please pray for the continued energy of students and adults on the trip, and for anyone we might come in contact with during our work throughout the week.

Sunday - We made it!!!
After some crazy traffic and some road construction, we all made it safe and sound to McCormick Guest Housing around 7:30 this evening. We took some time to unpack and move into our rooms, and then we signed the covenant and talked about our plans for the week. Tomorrow morning starts our first day of work! Please pray that we would have our eyes opened to the needs of this great city, and that we would have the rested strength to meet those needs as we are led.
