Costa Rica is a democratic country committed to education and emphasizing English education for school children as early as the first grade. The Costa Rican Presbyterian church is helping in this educational effort, and we hope to support the church in their ministry.
We are collecting new and gently used books at Second Presbyterian inside the north entrance underneath the white awning. Once in Costa Rica, the books will be distributed to satellite churches throughout the country and to local libraries.
Most of the children's books collected go to Costa Rica. If the books are not appropriate for the Costa Rica Book Collection (because they are for older readers), they are given to the groups we work with Kenya.
