Reflections Linda Rinker is a retired professor of English literature and linguistics and academic dean. An elder at Second Presbyterian Church, she has written poetry since the age of six and taken photographs since she won a Kodak Brownie camera in a coloring contest at the age of eight. After retirement, she learned to play in the mud and produce pottery objects, and then turned to watercolors, which she claims have more in common with playing with clay than with her other passion, photography. To Linda, art is a form of praise and worship. She sees her work as a reflection of the creative glory of God and as an offering of praise for the world’s beauty. She writes, “There is beauty even in the most ordinary things, even in things we consider ugly. God’s grace is everywhere. Look for the blessing.” Many of Linda’s paintings and photographs are related to poems she has written, and many are inspired by scripture. Scriptures and poems are exhibited along with the paintings and photos. Header image entitled Easter Morning Garden.
