Rev. Anne Solovey Marshall
Fairlawn Presbyterian Church
Anne serves as solo pastor for Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana, where she is working alongside session to discern where God is leading the church in regards to a building expansion and capital campaign. Anne is also pursuing a D.Min. degree with an emphasis in worship at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.
Husband Gray commutes to Plainfield, where serves as pastor at Hope United Presbyterian Church. The couple welcomed their first child in July.
"Leading and participating in communion each week at Second@Six was one of the most meaningful parts of my time at Second. Being able to participate in such holy moments was transformative and has shaped my understanding of worship leadership. Whenever I celebrate communion even now, I feel connected to the worshiping community at Second."
She attended Union Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, where she earned a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ohio State University.
Anne is married to Gray Marshall. She spends her non-working hours knitting, hiking and watching
Rev. Betsy B. Wood
Following her residency, Betsy remained in Indianapolis while her husband Jon continued teaching at IUPUI. She worked in various supply positions in the area and as a director of children and family ministries at Irvington Presbyterian Church.
Betsy and Jon have two girls, Clara (age 4) and Magdalene ("Maggie" - age 1). The family has recently moved to the DC metro area, and Betsy is beginning her tenure as a stay-at-home mom "with gratitude and trepidation."
Jon holds a tenure-track position in the Religious Studies Department at George Washington University. Betsy says, "This is an answer to longstanding prayers. Thanks to all at Second who upheld him and our family in prayer throughout the years!"
"One of my first days as a Lake Fellow, I spent half of the day working on a Habitat for Humanity house and half of the day visiting folks in the hospital. I knew that the work of Jesus had been done that day."
Betsy graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College. Betsy served as a student catering manager while in seminary and has also worked as a wedding cake decorator at a bakery in the Los Angeles area.
Betsy is married to Jon Wood, who graduated from Princeton Seminary with a Ph.D. in history. His primary field of interest is Reformation history.
Betsy enjoys cooking, working out, watching movies and making greeting cards. She spends a lot of her free time going for walks, drinking coffee and relaxing with friends.
