The middle school years can be confusing, as almost everything about life is changing. If you are in 6th-8th grades Middle School Ministries at Second offers a ton of opportunities for you to find a safe place to fit in and grow in your faith throughout the year.

For information on mission opportunities, click here.  In addition, there is one fall retreat in October and a winter trip in January every year.  Watch for more information.

Weekly opportunities specially designed for Middle School Students:

a.m. live
Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
This isn’t simply church school. a.m. live gives you a chance to dig deep into this thing we call faith. This Scripture-based curriculum helps you experience the Biblical books of history, poetry, wisdom, prophecy, the gospels, and the letters, as well as many faith challenges. Each grade level group is led by dedicated adult volunteers.

During the Sundays in Lent, we will be looking at the last week of Jesus' life and his journey toward the cross.  Bring a friend and we will see you on Sunday morning!

Take Flight
6th graders
Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 September through May
As you start middle school, many new and sometimes tough questions come up.  Take Flight allows new sixth graders a chance to dig into some of the questions they have about themselves, others, God and faith.  We focus on three important questions:

  • Who am I?
  • Wh are you?
  • Who is God?

This program is offered every year to help sixth graders as they make the move into middle school.

Middle School Fellowship
Sunday evenings, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
This is an awesome chance for you to explore faith and how it fits with life. Here you will have time to meet new friends, play games, sing and take an exciting journey through faith together. This is a place where your questions are taken seriously!  It is great fun every Sunday night, so bring a friend!  This week's question: Does God control what happens in our lives or do we?

Quest
Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00 p.m. (During the school year and various times throughout the summer)
Take a Quest deep into faith with an interactive small group Bible study based around current movie and television clips and how they relate to faith. This small group time gives middle school students a chance to really be heard.
