Take A Second - March 17, 2020

"I know that, together, we can do the next right thing. And the one after that. And, no matter how long it takes or how deep the darkness, together we will walk each other into the light."

-- Rev. Chris Henry

The power of prayer...the next right thing and something we can do together. Though our worship will not be in the Sanctuary at Second, we stand strong as a community of faith, anchored in the promise of prayer. Visit SecondChurch.org/update as we keep holding faith, together.

We are extending the already-announced cancellation of all church activities and meetings through Sunday, April 5. As promised, the leadership team at Second has been in deep prayer and discernment over these decisions, and it is with confidence in this community of faith -- the Body of Christ -- that we seek our fellowship in new and engaging ways, together. Our Sunday worship will begin at 11 a.m. through our Livestream, Facebook, and other streaming channels. Please read more about how to stay connected on Sunday.

THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 22

Fourth Sunday in Lent

"Casting Out Fear"

"By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Saviour of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us." (I John 4:13-21)

Week Three: How do we create rhythms of rest?

"Come to me all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

Our rhythms have been suddenly altered by cancelled plans, closed schools and offices, and the encouragement to stay home. So how do we create rhythms of rest? How can we seize this opportunity to be reoriented by these words of Jesus Christ? Rev. Karen Lang has words of deep wisdom.

How to stay connected on Sunday (and all other days of the week!)

Our fellowship and our traditions are not isolated to one building, one gathering, one Sunday. Your emails, your phone calls, your Facebook posts, and your outreach underscore the strength of our roots and our desire to keep in close touch. The links and notes below offer several ways to follow Sunday's sermon and to stay connected to Second throughout each week. We are here for you, and we are grateful for you.
