Wednesday Nights with Second

The Church in the Mission of God:
Speaking the Truth in Love to Heal a Broken World

February 1 -15, 6:30 - 8 PM

The Christian church is a community sent into the world by Jesus to continue his work, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you (John 20:21).” In the words of world-renowned theologian Jürgen Moltmann, “It is not the church that has a mission of salvation to fulfill to the world; it is the mission of the Son and the Spirit through the Father that includes the church, creating a church as it goes on its way.” One of the ways in which the church participates in the mission of God is through speaking the truth in love for the sake of healing our broken world.

This series will explore the mission of God and the role of the church as a participant in that mission biblically, theologically, and practically.

Childcare is available for children up to 5th grade.
