We light the second candle which is the candle of peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. As the prophet Isaiah said, “For to us a child is born, a son is given; the authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” This candle symbolizes our longing for the peace that God alone can bring to troubled hearts, broken relationships and warring nations.
