Join a mini-mission trip to Santo Domingo this October!

You are invited to celebrate with us as ambassadors of our church to help in presenting the second annual free-to-the-Dominican-people Music Ed Fest in Santo Domingo October 18 through 21, in a mini-mission entourage as we embrace our oneness of faith, our passion for the creative arts, our desire to be "at table" together enjoying Dominican meals, our interest in the c. 1500 historic architecture, and our witness to His presence in these beautiful island country. The cost for the trip will be in the range of $850 to $1,000.

Second, along with Whitewater Valley Presbytery, has taken "baby-to-giant" steps in the four short years of a flourishing music partnership with our Dominican brethren. Music workshops and lessons in the DR, exchange visits and performances of music students, college attendance/scholarships are among its fruit. One of its programs is Music Ed Fest. As Latino music was birthed on the African slave ships landing in the Caribbean islands, it helped to unshackle a people. It is imbued with life, dancing and love.

Second partners with Solid Rock International outreach to wrap God’s arms around our Caribbean neighbors. This relationship allows for families to visit the Dominican Republic in the gorgeous western mountains of San Juan de la Maguana, where you will participate in clinics, schools, construction, and fellowship, sightseeing, as well as share baseball, soccer, and other passions, and learn mission beyond Indiana. No Spanish-speaking knowledge is needed. Accommodations are “muy comodo” (comfortable). Cuisine is delicious! God is good!
