Now in its fourth year, the intergenerational retreat known as Second Summer Celebration will be held at Waycross Camp and Conference Center this year. This all-inclusive retreat center is located in Morgantown IN.

Enjoy each Wednesday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in McFarland Hall, or reserve it for your group.

Growing up in northern Indiana, Mary had a normal childhood. It wasn’t great, but her needs were met and she knew her parents loved her, even though she thought they were too busy with their careers. Mary graduated from high school and attended college. She did quite well and graduated with honors. She also fell in love and shortly after her graduation married the man of her dreams and moved to Indianapolis.

Even when our students leave home, they remain part of the Second family. The College Outreach Ministry stays in touch with these members with several mailings throughout the school year.

We invite all youth (6th through 12th grades) to go to the Aspire Youth Ministries website (SecondChurch.org/youth) for an online Advent devotional.

Week 3 - Joy: Light the pink candle on the Advent wreath, saying together, “We light this candle in great joy; Jesus is our joy!”

Each December, the Deacons of Second deliver dozens of poinsettias to some of our members who cannot come to church. Here are a few reflections on what this experience means to both the receiver and the giver:

The Parkinson’s Disease Support Group (“Sticks”) meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. until noon in Room 112.
