An Evening with Sharon Garlough Brown
Thursday, October 11, 6 PM
'Make Yourselves at Home'
"I've loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love." JOHN 15:9
Jesus has made our hearts His home. But have we made His heart our home? Do we rest in the love of God, or do we root ourselves in lesser things?
Join us for an evening together as we explore how to practice dwelling deeply in the extravagant love of God. If spiritual disciplines have been a source of frustration or guilt--if you approach your life with God with the burden of "have to" or "should"--then come discover new ways of receiving, enjoying, and responding to the presence of the One who calls you "beloved."

This evening experience will be a wonderful opportunity for men and women, young and old, the spiritually mature and those just beginning to explore their spiritual life.
Why not be prepared to fully enjoy this personal involvement evening at our church by reading the book this summer? You can purchase Sensible Shoes (the book, not a comfortable pair of sneakers!) for $15 by stopping by Dr. Jim Riley’s office where his new administrative assistant, Karen Reynard, has the book ready and waiting for you. Questions? E-mail Karen at KReynard@SecondChurch.org.
As you enjoy reading the book, jot down some notes about what interests you most, to help you prepare for a rich discussion with Sharon Brown on October 11.
