Children's Circle Preschool

Our classes for children ages 3 to 5 offer a developmentally appropriate curriculum, which includes an emphasis on Christian traditions and Bible stories. Preschool classes meet two or three days per week, depending on the ages of the children. Children learn best when the concepts have real meaning for them and have practical applications in their daily lives. They also learn through all their senses, which is how strong neurological connections are made. Activities address motor skills, problem solving, creativity and independent thinking.
Throughout the preschool years, our teachers continuously introduce number and letter concepts through hands-on activities designed to meet the developmental needs of the children. Writing letters in shaving cream, looking at books and being read to are all ways the children get ready to read. Using real objects to sort, count and graph build the foundation for math.

Research shows that social competence is a good predictor of future success. It is important to learn to work cooperatively, take responsibility for belongings and actions, enjoy the company of others and learn to be a friend.

Through art activities, the children practice fine motor skills while expressing their thoughts and feelings. The children attend weekly music class because research tells us that early music experience has intellectual and emotional benefits in addition to enriching our lives.
Bible Time Adventure is an interactive, multi-sensory Bible story time. The children use a stage and full sets, props and costumes as they act out familiar Bible stories. Through song, storytelling, role play and drama the Bible story of the month comes alive before their eyes. Utilizing the church’s Preschool Sunday School curriculum as a basis for the lessons, the children first hear the story and then they do it. All this learning takes place in the Drama Room on the third floor several times each month.
